Brooklyn Nets: 5 options for pick No. 29 in 2018 NBA Draft

With the 29th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, the Brooklyn Nets have a multitude of options to choose from. Here are five guys they could target, all with varying upsides and fits with the team going forward.

That’s right folks, it’s draft season. With the 2018 NBA Draft order fully set after the draft lottery, the Brooklyn Nets know exactly who will be picking when in the top 14. Brooklyn has the 29th overall pick, via the Toronto Raptors from the DeMarre Carroll trade.

By the time No. 29 rolls around, the draft board will likely be all out of sorts. There are a myriad of prospects who can arguably be grouped into the same tier, so the Nets will have a large pool to justifiably choose from.

While the Nets also own the 40th and 45th picks, No. 29 is significantly different in value for one reason: the contract. First round picks have a guaranteed salary for two years, with a team option for years three and four. This will certainly impact who the front office goes after, as opposed to the optionality of non-guaranteed salaries of second round players.
