10. Nate McMillan (SG) — No. 30 in 1986 NBA Draft

Career stats:  796 GP, 5.9 PPG, 6.1 APG, 4.0 RPG, 1.9 SPG, 0.4 BPG, 44.3 FG%, 34.3 3P%, 65.0 FT%

In 1986, the Sonics picked the man who would become known as “Mr. Sonic,” Nate McMillan, out of North Carolina State University with their second round pick, No. 30 overall.

McMillan played his whole 11-year career in Seattle. McMillan did not have a season where he averaged more than 10 points per game, but what he was known for was his passing ability and knack for stealing the ball.

McMillan finished his career as the all-time leader in assists and steals in Sonics history. He shares the single-game assists record for rookies with 25 in a Feb. 23 game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Ernie DiGregorio shares the record with him.

McMillan made the All-Defensive team two times (1993-94 and 1994-95). In 1993-94, he was first in total steals and steals per game, finishing third in defensive rating.

Career-wise, McMillan is 17th in career steals per game with 1.9. In assists, he is 49th in assists per game with 6.1.

He would end up coaching the Sonics from 2001-05. When he became the coach he was the 12th coach in the Sonics history and he was the youngest coach in the league at the time.

The Sonics honored McMillan on March 24, 1999, when they retired his jersey. He became the fourth Sonics player to have his jersey retired by the team.
