4. Khyri Thomas

  • Height: 6’4″
  • Weight: 199 lbs
  • Age: 22
  • Position: SG

Khyri Thomas played three seasons at Creighton University and established himself as one of the top two-way players in all of college basketball. He is a 6’4″ guard with a 6’10″ wingspan. The Ringer labels Thomas as a “defensive menace who offers complementary offense with his shooting, though his ball-handling must improve.”

Last season at Creighton, Thomas averaged 15.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.7 steals in 31.7 minutes per game while shooting 53.8 percent from the field and 41.1 percent from the 3-point line.

He is another guy who could see the floor right away for Atlanta because of his basketball IQ, athleticism and defensive discipline. The Hawks are in a rebuild and could afford to start Thomas at the shooting guard and let him develop. He wouldn’t have to be the go-to guy on offense and would thrive in a 3-and-D role.

The Ringer compares Thomas to Victor Oladipo, “a small” Gerald Wallace and Patrick Beverley. Thomas is a high-energy guy who is going to give 100 percent effort every time he steps on the floor. It would not be surprising to see Thomas on an All-NBA Defensive Team during his career.
