1. DeMarcus Cousins

While both parties continue to remain mum on the subject, the signs are everywhere. DeMarcus Cousins and the Lakers joining forces is a real possibility. Cousins recently unfollowed the New Orleans Pelicans on Instagram, then immediately followed Paul George and Julius Randle.

Coincidence? Perhaps, but that didn’t stop the buzzsaw of speculation. Fans both in favor and opposed to Boogie’s social media maneuvering weighed in on his Instagram page.

With DMC coming off an Achilles tear, the market could be lacking for the veteran big man. The Lakers have enough salary cap space to sign Cousins to the right deal, whether it’s a short-term max contract or a long-term contract suitable for both sides.

Both Cousins and Randle stated in recent interviews that they want to play for a contender next season. Perhaps the two are conjuring up a plan along with George to bring Los Angeles back to championship contention.

When someone asked Cousins why he unfollowed the Pelicans on Instagram he responded, “Cause I’m grown.” Does that mean he wants to be a Laker or are all the signs simply serendipitous?
