Los Angeles Lakers: 5 centers to target in 2018 NBA free agency

2. Alex Len
The No. 5 overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, Alex Len has had an up-and-down career so far with the Phoenix Suns. Like his counterpart Noel, who was drafted one spot behind him, it might be time for Len to get a fresh start.
According to Scott Bordow of the Arizona Republic, Len and the Suns seem to be on the path to parting ways. With Tyson Chandler and Dragan Bender already on the books there is little room in the rotation for Len.
Now with the first overall pick in the Suns’ arsenal, drafting Deandre Ayton is a possibility, adding yet another center to the roster. Drafting Ayton would undoubtedly spell the end of Len’s time in Phoenix.
The Ukrainian big man averaged 8.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game last season, while shooting a career-high 56 percent from the field. Though Len’s shot has improved, his style of play is fading in today’s NBA. He might be disappointed in the amount of offers he receives as many teams aren’t looking to invest a ton of money in seven-footers who don’t have 3-point range.
The Lakers could get Len for a decent price, giving them much-needed depth and a player who still has room to grow.
