Boston Celtics: 3 takeaways from Game 3 vs. Cavaliers

The Boston Celtics faced a reality check Saturday in their 30-point loss Saturday night. We bring you three takeaways from Game 3’s blowout.

Being up 2-0 in arguably dominating fashion, the Boston Celtics didn’t walk into Cleveland with the chip on their shoulders that has often carried them this season.

In return, the Cavaliers made then pay in embarrassing fashion Saturday during Game 3.

In a game that was never relatively close, the Cavaliers throttled Boston 116-86 to make the series 2-1.

Doing their best Celtics impression, Cleveland used balance and defense to guide them in what was easily a must-win contest. LeBron James had himself another nice night finishing with 27 points and 12 assists.

But it was the help from others that ultimately led Cleveland to be victorious. Five Cavaliers finished with double-digits in points as no one attempted more than 12 shots.

For Boston, things were the complete opposite. On their way to 39 percent shooting, no Celtics player scored more than 18 points in one of their worst performances of the playoffs. For arguably the first time since round one, Boston finished a game where it didn’t look like it belonged on the same floor with its opponent.
