5. Chandler Hutchison

  • Height: 6’7″
  • Weight: 197 lbs
  • Age: 22
  • Position: SG/SF

The Blazers need backcourt depth and guys who can shoot the ball. Chandler Hutchison is a big-bodied wing who can play and defend multiple positions. Hutchison played four years at Boise State University and improved his game each year.

His senior season was his best. Hutchison averaged 20.0 points. 7.7 rebounds. 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals in 31 minutes per game while shooting 47.7 percent from the field and 35.9 percent from the 3-point line.

He was the leading guy on his team and defenses knew that, but they still couldn’t stop him. Being on the Blazers, he wouldn’t see as tight of defenses and would have more space to shoot and create on offense. Hutchison could come in right away and play some minutes off the bench as a 3-and-D role player. He is also a good rebounder for a wing player.

He has excellent physical tools, is a good defender, aggressively slashes and finishes at the rim, and now has developed into a solid shooter. Finding a 3-and-D guy like Hutchison in the back half of the first round could turn out to be a steal for the Blazers.
