4. Jalen Brunson, PG — Villanova

If Spellman isn’t in the Lakers’ plans, his college teammate Jalen Brunson could be. The junior point guard started all but one game in his college career, helping lead the Wildcats to two titles in three years.

Last season, the 21-year-old floor general led Villanova with 18.9 points, 4.6 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game. He shot 52.1 percent from the field and 40.8 percent from beyond the arc, while only turning the ball over 1.8 times per game.

The consensus College Player of the Year is sure to get a lot of attention once the lottery teams are done selecting. The Ringer‘s mock draft has Brunson going No. 26, while other mock drafts have him going anywhere from the 20-30 range.

The Lakers could opt to reunite Brunson with his one-time college teammate Hart to form a gritty, hard-nosed backcourt off the bench.
