1. Troy Brown Jr., SG/SF — Oregon

Your guess as to what position Troy Brown plays at the next level is as good as anyone else’s.

He has the size to defend 3s in the pros at 6’7″, and the way basketball is going, probably some 4s as well. He has the passing ability to be one of your creators on the floor, if not your primary ball-handler. His shooting indicates…well, we won’t talk about his shooting (he shot only 29 percent on 110 3-pointers with Oregon last year).

So yeah…he’s not necessarily a natural fit at any spot on the floor. That being said, the Pacers are one of the few teams with not one but two big men with legitimate 3-point range in Turner and second-year stud Domantas Sabonis. If there were any team that could accommodate a player who could do a little bit of everything but doesn’t have the cleanest shot (yet), it’s Indiana.

Throw in the fact that there’s uncertainty surrounding three of their five starters (Thaddeus Young has a player option while Bogdanovic and Collison are only partially guaranteed), and drafting an 18-year-old who could theoretically fill one of several spots on the floor might be the wisest of all the moves they can make.
