Milwaukee Bucks: 5 options for pick No. 17 in 2018 NBA Draft
4. Shake Milton, PG/SG — SMU
Last season the Milwaukee Bucks took a former SMU wing in Sterling Brown in the second round, and he provided solid rotation minutes for the team during the second half of the season. For reasons unknown to anyone but Joe Prunty, he was then excised from the playoff rotation in favor of such standouts as Shabazz Muhammad and 40-year-old Jason Terry.
With Brown certain to return to the rotation under the Mike Budenholzer regime in Milwaukee, the Bucks could elect to pair him on the bench with a former SMU teammate in Shake Milton. The 6’6″ guard is best known for his elite shooting, as he poured in 2.5 3-pointers per game on 43.4 percent shooting.

Not only was Milton prolific at making 3-pointers, he took a heavy amount of them as well, shooting from outside on 47 percent of his shot attempts, an excellent number. Especially on a team where the star is not an outside shooter, having willing shooters outside opens up the floor.
The beauty of taking a player from SMU is that they come from a system where they are not simply one-trick ponies. Milton, despite being generally deployed alongside a point guard, was encouraged to handle and make plays at times. He assisted on 24.1 percent of possessions while on the court, another solid number.
That isn’t to say Milton is a can’t-miss prospect, as he does lack elite burst and struggled to finish around the rim in college. But on a Milwaukee team where there are plenty of other players equipped to attack the rim, Milton would be called upon to play defense and shoot the 3. It appears he can do that, and do it quite well.
