A series does not start until a team loses at home, or so the problematic-but-fun-to-pretend-is-true saying goes.
In the case of this year’s Western Conference Finals between the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets, that generality is flipped. It took Houston winning 127-105 — at home — to really get this thing going.
Kevin Durant was incredible again, scoring 38 points on 22 shots. But the Rockets stifled his support, limiting Stephen Curry to 16 points on 19 shots, Klay Thompson to eight points on 11 shots and Draymond Green to six points, six rebounds, six assists, four turnovers and a -24 rating.
