Sacramento Kings: 5 options for pick No. 2 in 2018 NBA Draft
1. Luka Doncic
This is a dream scenario for the Sacramento Kings organization, jumping to the No. 2 pick in the NBA Draft and hopefully selecting the best prospect for their franchise. Luka Doncic is pretty much the perfect player for Sacramento’s roster needs with their main weaknesses being shooting and secondary playmaking outside of De’Aaron Fox.
Doncic is a rare European wing that has had scouts’ attention for multiple seasons, most notably when he cracked the Real Madrid rotation at age 16. The now 19-year-old Slovenian is coming off his best season in the Spanish capital, averaging 14.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.1 steals in just 24.9 minutes per game.
Doncic’s main question marks about his transition to the NBA are creating against NBA athletes and defending them on the other side of the ball. But his advanced vision, passing and ability to get to the free throw line combined with his 6’8” size is ideal next to Fox, Buddy Hield, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Justin Jackson, makes him an ideal fit at No. 2

The chances of the Kings grabbing Doncic hinge on the Phoenix Suns passing on the guard, and the dropoff in terms of guard/wing talent after Doncic will make it a long draft process. But the Kings want nothing more than to have Luka Doncic to fall into their laps and add to their promising young core.
