1. Mikal Bridges, SF — Villanova

Villanova Wildcats Mikal Bridges is a prospect who would give the Philadelphia 76ers a leg up in the depth department for 2017-18. Bridges possesses the prototypical 3-and-D makeup that would give Philly a good change of pace next to Robert Covington.

Bridges is a 6’7″ guard/forward with the bulk at 210 pounds to bang with some of the bigger forwards in the East. He’s an efficient shooter who shot 43.5 percent from 3-point range in 2017-18 — much improved from the 29.9 percent he shot in 40 appearances off the bench in 2015-16 as a freshman.

He averaged a career-high 17.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.1 blocks per game in 40 starts for Villanova last season. Alongside guard Jalen Brunson, he proved to be a formidable force in the Wildcats’ rotation.

Bridges brings a winner’s mentality to the franchise, with two national championships under his belt (2017 and 2018). He earned the Julius Erving Award, an award current Los Angeles Lakers guard Josh Hart won in 2016-17. The Julius Erving Award, currently in its fourth year of existence, is given annually to the top small forward in men’s college basketball.
