5. Collin Sexton, PG — Alabama

Alabama point guard Collin Sexton serves as a solid option for the Philadelphia 76ers, depending on how they use him. While the Sixers could certainly use another ball-handler, Sexton’s arrival would mean Ben Simmons would have to play off the ball.

After the way Simmons played against the Celtics, it would serve him well to gain more confidence with his jump shot. The rookie shot 47.5 percent against Boston in the second round of the 2018 NBA Playoffs, coming up short in key moments of the series.

That’s where Sexton comes into play. At 6’2″, Sexton is squeaky floor general who is athletic, aggressive and tenacious on defense. He has the leadership ability to power the second unit for the Philadelphia 76ers alongside Markelle Fultz, who can play the off-guard spot exclusively.

Given the way the Sixers like to push the ball, Sexton and Fultz pose as a lethal combination in Philadelphia’s backcourt in theory. They can also play Ben Simmons at the forward position in this scenario if need be.

Sexton’s addition would give them a list of possibilities to use their versatile young core to their advantage, though his lack of a perimeter shot would obviously impair the Sixers’ spacing alongside Simmons.
