3. Luka Doncic

Yes, Igor Kokoskov coached Slovenian sensation Luka Doncic last summer. No, that does not mean the Phoenix Suns are going to automatically select him at No. 1. The Suns could draft him, but if they don’t, the Sacramento Kings and Atlanta Hawks aren’t necessarily locks to select him either.

If all of those teams pass on the European star, Chris Wallace should be sprinting to deliver the card to NBA commissioner Adam Silver personally.

Not everyone in the NBA is community is sold on Doncic, and frankly, I’m not either. Some think he’s a James Harden-lite, and others think he’s a player with as much bust potential as Darko Milicic. Personally, I think his game is somewhere in the middle, but it’s easy to see why some people hold the former opinion with plays like this:

Doncic isn’t afraid to drive into the lane if he sees an opening, but also uses his driving ability to create opportunities for his teammates and has the vision to make plays happen.

It’s unlikely he falls to No. 4, but if he were to be drafted by the Grizzlies, he wouldn’t have to handle all of the ball-handling duties, with Mike Conley set to return next season from his season-ending foot injury. That duo could create headaches for the rest of the league, with a side of international flair.
