Los Angeles Clippers: 5 options for pick No. 12 in 2018 NBA Draft
1. Robert Williams
Robert Williams has a lot of similarities to DeAndre Jordan. Both attended Texas A&M and have similar playing styles. So, why not potentially replace Jordan with someone that is sometimes compared to him?
Williams is perfect for today’s NBA. He is big, long and athletic. Listed at 6’10” and 230 pounds, Williams is a force in the paint. Offensively, he finishes well around the rim. He could also be potent in the pick-and-roll and as a rim runner. Every time he went up for a dunk, it looked like he was going to rip the rim off the backboard.
He does, however, need to improve his low-post game. He also has no range and struggles at the foul line, something he will have to improve if he wants to remain in games in crunch time.
Defensively, Williams can singlehandedly control the paint. He is a great rebounder, averaging 9.2 per game last year. He is also an elite rim protector, as he averaged 2.6 blocks per game last season with the Aggies.
Seeing the statistics that Williams put up is impressive since he played out of position virtually all season as a power forward. Tyler Davis played center as he was a more traditional, back-to-the-basket big man.

Williams’ motor and athleticism will allow him to have an impact defensively right away. He will need to develop offensively, but we’ve seen firsthand with Jordan that you can make a major impact even with a limited offensive game.
