4. Robert Williams, PF/C — Texas A&M

Robert Williams knows how to catch a lob and power it home with authority. If he comes to Los Angeles, he will be joining a team that is very familiar with that concept.

He has a streaky jump shot that goes in, but will have to work on his technique. He also possesses some offensive tools that will make him an interesting prospect going forward in the draft process.

Williams also was a player that helped his team go far in the NCAA Tournament, leading Texas A&M to the Sweet 16. One thing teams will like about him is his commitment and how he can deal with adversity.

Williams came back for a second year after he was a sure lottery pick after his freshman year. His commitment to staying with the team and trying to get a little bit better has to be noticed.

Texas A&M’s leading scorer was junior Tyler Davis, who played almost exclusively in the low post. Williams was out of position the whole year and was able to still be productive.

DeAndre Jordan has a player option and could be on his way out the door. Montrezl Harrell is also a restricted free agent. Williams would be a good backup plan if he decides to leave. Williams has similar skills to Jordan with his ability to run the floor and catch lobs. Also they both have the ability to block shots.

If Williams works hard, he has shown the capability to be an elite rebounder.

With another first round pickm the Clippers just may pick Williams, but there are other players that are better options.
