2. Robert Williams

  • Height: 6’10″
  • Weight: 241 lbs
  • Age: 20
  • Position: PF/C

If Robert Williams had declared for the NBA Draft last year, he would have been a top-10 pick and maybe even top-five. He decided to go back to Texas A&M for his sophomore season and did not dominate like NBA scouts would have hoped. He still had a good season and is a lock to be a top-20 pick.

In his sophomore season, Williams averaged 10.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 1.4 steals in 25.6 minutes per game while shooting 63.2 percent from the field.

Williams has excellent physical traits, athleticism and has the potential to be a dominant big man in the NBA. The Ringer labeled him as a “supreme dunker who fits the mold of a rim-running center, though he must improve his discipline.” Williams is compared to guys like DeAndre Jordan and Clint Capela. Both guys know their roles as athletic centers who protect the rim, set screens and rebound on both ends of the floor.

The Nuggets could use a guy like Williams to pair next to Nikola Jokic. He will take the pressure of Jokic on the defensive side, and he can check the more prominent guys, so Jokic does not have to bang around a lot down low. Williams doesn’t need to score to impact the game, and that is precisely the type of guy the Nuggets could use.
