3. Marvin Bagley III, PF/C — Duke

Marvin Bagley III thought so highly of the college process, he reclassified from the class of 2018 to the 2017 class. After that, he took the college basketball landscape by storm with the Duke Blue Devils on his way to earning national recognition.

The 6’11” freshman took him ACC Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year honors in 2017-18 after putting up 21.0 points, 11.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. He started in 32 of the 33 contests he appeared in for Duke, leading the conference in both rebounds and points per game.

He shot 61.4 percent from the field and 39.7 percent from behind the arc in 2017-18. His play powered the Duke Blue Devils all the way to the Elite Eight in this year’s NCAA Tournament, where they fell to the Kansas Jayhawks 85-81 in overtime.

It would be crazy to see Bagley drop to the fifth pick, but he’d be a blessing for the Dallas Mavericks. He’s not a sharpshooter from behind the arc but he possesses the ball-handling ability to play the wing as well as in the post.
