Jaren Jackson Jr. . 125. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Michigan State. 3. . player. C

The Atlanta Hawks an are absolute mess, though they just hired a new coach in Lloyd Pierce. After recent social media speculation, Dennis Schroder, the Hawks’ leading scorer and assist man, is open to being dealt sooner rather than later. The Hawks should just obtain the best player available here and that is Jaren Jackson Jr.

The freshman phenom has all the defensive tools both physical and athletically to become a dominant rim protector, along with having the lateral speed to become a serviceable defender on switches as well.

The question mark with Jackson is how does he develop offensively? He flashed some ball-handling ability on the perimeter and shot the ball well from the 3-point line, shooting 39.7 percent. Unfortunately, his mechanics are hard to project so he needs to prove in workouts that he can knock down the 3 with his extremely low release. Jackson is still an extremely safe pick with all of his defensive upside.
