The future is bright for Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic. Here we take a look at his overall performance in the 2017-18 season.

Versatile big man Nikola Jokic set himself apart from the rest of the NBA with his 2017-18 performance for the Denver Nuggets. Jokic averaged career-highs in scoring (18.5 points per game) along with rebounds (10.7 per game) and assists (6.1 per game) while shooting 49.9 percent from the field and a career-high 39.6 percent from behind the arc.

Jokic is a guy with Most Valuable Player award written all over him. It’s worth noting, he was without big man Paul Millsap for 44 games in 2017-18, so 2018-19 will be an interesting one for the Nuggets.

The third-year big man put up 38 double-doubles and 10 triple-doubles as Denver just missed the postseason by a game. They lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves, 112-106, in overtime for the eighth seed in the Western Conference.

Although he missed the postseason, the future looks bright for Jokic and the Nuggets, who won six of their last seven games in the regular season.

Jokic is going to be a problem for the West for seasons to come. He posted new single-game career-highs in points (41), assists (17) and blocks (5) and it looks like he’s just getting started. Here’s a breakdown of Nikola Jokic’s player grades for 2017-18.
