1. Dwane Casey

When looking across the head coaching landscape, no resume stands out more than former Toronto Raptors head coach Dwane Casey. Casey was named the 2017-18 Coach of the Year this past season but an abysmal performance by the Raptors in the second round cost him his job.

In seven seasons with the Raptors, Casey boasted a record of 320-238 with five playoff appearances under his belt. The only drawback to those appearances is their record (21-30). Casey’s performances in the postseason pretty much cost him his job. The results could be different in Detroit, though.

Casey will have a tandem of Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond in the frontcourt to go along with Reggie Jackson in the frontcourt. Jackson and Griffin posted an 8-4 record together in their short stint of playing time together. Given a full season to work together, Casey can generate a potential playoff outcome.

The Pistons finished ninth in the Eastern Conference this past season while the Raptors finished first with 59 wins, the most in franchise history. Regardless of who they hire in the front office, Casey should make a solid head coach for the Detroit Pistons franchise.
