5. Jerry Stackhouse

Jerry Stackhouse is a familiar name as both a solid player and head coach across the league. Stackhouse has been the head coach of Raptors 905, the G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, for the past two seasons. He led the team to a league championship in 2017 and an appearance in the Finals this past season in his time as head coach. He compiled a record of 70-30 (.700) and earned the Coach of the Year Award in 2016-17.

Stackhouse has experience with the Detroit Pistons franchise already as a player. He averaged 22.1 points, 4.4 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game in five seasons with the club. He was named to the All-Star team twice in his time as a Piston.

Stackhouse has experience in the player development department, something the Detroit Pistons can use with lethal guard Reggie Jackson. His defensive style also fits what they want to do with guys like Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond. The Raptors 905 were 29th in offense last season but first in opponents points per game (97.1). They were the only team in the G League that allowed less than 100 points per contest.

Experience may play a factor for Stackhouse, though, so it could be given to a coach with more NBA coaching under their belt.
