4. Win battle from beyond the arc

One area that both teams rely upon is 3-point shooting. The Dubs lead the league in 3-point shooting, knocking down 39.1 percent of their attempts.

Meanwhile, most of what the Rockets like to do from an offensive standpoint pertains to launching a high volume of shots from beyond the arc. Don’t believe me? Look no further than the regular season to confirm this statement.

During the 2017-18 campaign, the Rockets led the league in 3-point attempts, putting up 42.3 per contest and tied for 13th with a conversion rate of 36.2 percent. That trend has carried over to the postseason as well.

In their 10 playoff games, the Rockets are averaging 39.9 attempts from 3-point land and they are also the top team in makes with 14.1 per contest. Furthermore, in both of their postseason losses, their opponent has fared better in this category, which essentially means it is pivotal that the Rockets outplay the Warriors in this area if they have any hopes of ending the Dubs’ reign over the Western Conference.
