Final grade

Dinwiddie had a great season based on expectations. His ability to put the team on his back was both necessary and exhilarating. Without hesitation, I can say Dinwiddie was the Brooklyn Nets’ best player this season.

The fact that he could step into a major role and not just survive, but thrive, was fantastic. Dinwiddie revived his career.

It remains to be seen if he will be around after his contract expires next season, but if he improves as a shooter and defender, the Nets would be remiss to let him go.

Considering his work ethic and intellect, there’s a good chance Dinwiddie will improve in these areas. But considering where he came from, this season was great on its own.

If someone said in November (when DLo went down) that Dinwiddie would be a league leader in crunch time buckets, maintain elite ball security, and win the Skills Challenge, everyone would have laughed it off.
