Brooklyn Nets: 2017-18 player grades for Allen Crabbe
By Alec Liebsch
Highlights
Crabbe’s main highlights obviously revolve around his shooting. As I outlined in my top 10 moments from 2017-18, Crabbe’s illustrious 41-point performance was one of the best games of the Nets’ season.
Crabbe went 8-of-11 from downtown in this game, which is a glimpse into just how high the Nets can fly when their shooters get hot.
His marksmanship was not only prevalent on that night, either. Crabbe proceeded to rattle off 13 performances in which he made five or more 3-pointers. On top of that, Crabbe also had 16 games of 20 or more points, all of which were welcome additions to a team whose offensive firepower was more like a few scattered embers.
Additionally, despite being on a 54-loss team, Crabbe provided a positive plus-minus in nearly half his appearances (33 of 75). The scorching 41-point decimation also provided him with a top-75 finish in ESPN’s single-game player ratings for the entire season. Considering how many performances could have ranked higher (i.e. all of LeBron James‘s, James Harden‘s, or Anthony Davis‘s games), this is a monumental feat.
Crabbe doesn’t pop off the TV like Jarrett Allen, nor does he drop flashy dimes like Spencer Dinwiddie. He is a solid rock of production who just goes out there and balls.
