Final grade

The Milwaukee Bucks went through plenty of ups and downs in 2017-18 and are still in flux as they seek out a new head coach. Through it all, rookie Sterling Brown developed quietly, managing to outperform the team’s higher draft pick.

Brown has a big, athletic body made to cause problems on both ends of the floor. He is already a nuisance on the defensive end, but he also has the power to throw down some dunks on offense. His smooth jumper also helps him knock down an average amount of 3-pointers, setting him up to be a reliable marksman in the future.

However, Brown is predictable when slashing to the basket, leading to a below-average percentage at the rim. He is also unable to create his own shot on offense, which caps his potential.

The Bucks have a lot of questions to deal with this summer, but keeping Brown could be one of the easier answers. He has the toolset to become a reliable 3-and-D role player and is under a cheap rookie deal through 2019-20. With continued development, Sterling Brown could be a useful piece in the impending new era of Milwaukee Bucks basketball.
