Unable to take Game 4, the Boston Celtics head home looking to eliminate the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 5 and get back to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Despite their best efforts, the Boston Celtics will have to wait until Wednesday night if they want to advance, as the Philadelphia 76ers staved off elimination with a 103-92 victory in Game 4.

With the offseason staring them right in the face, Sixers head coach Brett Brown decided to switch things up, inserting T.J. McConnell into the staring lineup in place of Robert Covington, giving Philly another ball-handler next to Ben Simmons.

Criticized throughout this series for his decision-making, Brown’s move paid off, as McConnell finished with a career-high 19 points to go along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Boston actually started off the game quite well, going on a 12-2 run in the first quarter, and leading by as many as six points before halftime until the 76ers came roaring back to take the lead, which they wouldn’t relinquish for the remainder of the game.

What ultimately led to the Celtics’ demise was the foul trouble they put themselves in, as three players finished with five fouls, with another racking up four.

Jayson Tatum led his team in scoring once again, finishing with 20 points. The rest of Boston’s lineup chipped in as well, with four others cracking double-digits.

Up 3-1 in the series, the Celtics should feel good heading into Game 5, but that by no means guarantees a victory. With the star talent on Philly coupled with their ability to stroke it from deep, Boston will have to execute on both ends to get it done.
