Jeff Teague’s first season with the Minnesota Timberwolves was nothing short of a roller coaster. Here’s a player review for his 2017-18 season.

A lot of people had high expectations for newcomer Jeff Teague, especially after the Minnesota Timberwolves dealt fan favorite Ricky Rubio away to the Utah Jazz. On top of that, they handed Teague $5 million more per season.

It also doesn’t help the fact that the Wolves had some troubles finding their franchise point guard. The Johnny Flynn and Rubio experiments proved to not work as well as they’d hoped for. Anyways, Teague came into the franchise with plenty of new faces and expectations.

Teague’s first season with the Wolves was a roller-coaster. He did finish the regular season a lot better and had a solid playoff series against the Houston Rockets. However, the beginning of the season was a bit of a struggle to say the least.

All in all, the 29-year old finished the year averaging 14.7 points, 7.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game, all while shooting 44.6 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from 3 on 3.3 attempts per game. In the playoffs he averaged 13.0 points, 5.8 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 0.6 steals per game.

Teague still has two years left on his contract and if his first year was anything to show, the Wolves may want to consider dealing him. He wasn’t terrible, but there were a lot of times where fans were left wondering how well he fits well with his teammates.

He has three scoring offensive players in Jimmy Butler, Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns. Sometimes he took away from them and it appeared that his will to score was not what was best for the team at times.

Here’s a review of Jeff Teague’s 2017-18 season.
