3. The CP3 factor weighs in

On a night where Houston shot 42 percent from the field overall and 26 percent from deep, offense didn’t come easy for most of the night. Playing against arguably the best defense in basketball, points don’t come easy.

However, even with those offensive struggles, the Rockets are on the precipice of a series win after taking back-to-back games in Utah. That stubborn toughness partly comes from a man who has seen every scenario in the NBA play out before, and isn’t willing to let anything slip.

Chris Paul used his birthday as the platform for the latest showing of his meaning to the Rockets.

Paul finished the night leading both teams in points, as every time the Jazz inched back closer, CP3 nudged them farther away.

It’s that kind of a play that keeps the Rockets on their heels. No matter the series lead, Houston isn’t looking to relax. As Paul said after Sunday’s matchup, he’s been here before.
