While sweeps were the Golden State Warriors’ modus operandi during last year’s playoffs, the 2018 team is feeling a little more gentlemanly. With their 118-92 Game 4 win over the New Orleans Pelicans, the series is all but destined to end in Oakland on Tuesday, with the New Orleans crowd still left to savor their Game 3 treat.

This is not to make light work of the Pelicans, who have certainly been a difficult opponent. While they are technically not at full strength, the DeMarcus Cousins-less version of the Pels has been a revelation, and many expected Anthony Davis, Jrue Holiday and co. to push Golden State.

Alas, Game 3 appeared to be more about poor Warriors’ effort than a sign of a long series. Kevin Durant scored 38 points in Game 4, Draymond Green had eight points, nine assists, nine rebounds, four assists and two blocks, and Stephen Curry (23 points, 4-of-9 from 3) bounced back.

Heading back to Oracle Arena, only a meltdown from Golden State or a LeBron James/Kyrie Irving impersonation from Davis and Holiday will keep this series alive. For now, let’s take a look at why this thing is now 3-1.
