Cleveland Cavaliers: 3 takeaways from Game 3 vs. Raptors
By Simon Smith
Following yet another LeBron James buzzer-beater, here are three takeaways from Game 3 with the Cleveland Cavaliers one game away from advancing.
For the umpteenth time, LeBron James has proven to be the worst nightmare for the Toronto Raptors.
After trailing the Cleveland Cavaliers for the majority of the game, and by as many as 17 points at one stage, the Raptors fought their way back to tie the game with eight seconds remaining on a 3-pointer by rookie OG Anunoby.
However, for already the second time this postseason, LeBron would prove to be the difference at the buzzer.
Following his majestic game-winner in Game 5 of their first round series against the Indiana Pacers, James followed it up with this insane game-winner:
In sealing the 105-103 win, James posted 38 points, seven assists and six rebounds and was incredibly aggressive all game, as highlighted by making 11 trips to the free throw line. In fact, 14 of James’ 26 field goal attempts came within five feet of the rim, clearly highlighting his mindset entering the game.
In addition, Kevin Love continued his great series with 21 points and 16 rebounds, while veteran sharpshooter Kyle Korver was excellent with 18 points, which included hitting 4-of-6 from long range.
For the Raptors, Kyle Lowry bounced back into form with 27 points and seven assists, while Serge Ibaka impressed with 11 points, eight rebounds and four blocks in a new role coming off the bench.
While most of the noise emanating from this game naturally comes from the exploits of James, the Cavaliers now find themselves just one win away from advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals.
On the verge of a series sweep, here are three takeaways from Game 3.
