A big issue for the Knicks in recent years has been developing an identity. The constant overhauling of the organization is a big reason for that. When Jackson arrived, he attempted to implement the outdated triangle offense without the necessary pieces. New York never committed to a rebuild as it should have. Now, things are hopefully changing.

Stability is something that Perry and Mills are preaching. Those two and Fizdale could provide that if truly given the opportunity.

Fizdale will bring a modern offense to the Knicks, something the team desperately needs. It caused problems in Memphis with Marc Gasol, but it is something that should be embraced by the players and fans in New York.

In addition to the offense, Fizdale will bring a good defensive system as well. Memphis ranked seventh in the NBA in defensive rating in his one full season with the team.

The Knicks are in the middle of a rebuild, but there is hope with Fizdale now on the sidelines. There shouldn’t be any pressure from the front office to do things a certain way, as Fizdale should have the freedom to run what he wants.

After spending so much time with the Miami Heat during their Big 3 era, Fizdale knows what it takes to win and will bring that with him to New York.
