4. Giannis stonewalls Portland to secure win

Would this be the season Giannis Antetokounmpo finally slowed down, proving himself to be normal and not continually improving every single statistic? While some of his stats leveled out, his sheer confidence did not, until Antetokounmpo knew for certain that the locker room was his.

Having done so, the next step was to show the rest of the league. While he has been accruing highlight-reel plays for years, many were still unsure of who he was or where he came from — and especially not an understanding of his dominance.

That was on display early in the season when the Bucks took on the Portland Trail Blazers. They had no answers for the Greek Freak, who carved Portland up for a career-high 44 points on 17-of-23 shooting in an incredible show of efficiency. Only six other players in the league this year put up a similar combination of efficiency and production.

At the end of the game, Antetokounmpo’s dominance wasn’t enough to gain separation. Therefore, he took matters into his own hands, locking down both ends of the court to seal the victory.

LeBron James. Perhaps Anthony Davis. None of the league’s best stars could or would pull off something like this. Antetokounmpo is special, a unique and marvelous player in a marvelous league.
