Milwaukee Bucks: Top 10 moments from 2017-18 NBA season
5. Khris Middleton hits buzzer beater to force overtime in Game 1
The first round series between the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks was expected to be a close one. Would the superior talent of Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks win out over the superior coaching and system of the Boston Celtics?
In Game 1, the Bucks led a furious comeback to tie the game. Terry Rozier faked Eric Bledsoe out of his shoes and rose up for an uncontested 3-pointer to go ahead by three. Then, with just barely enough time to get it off, Khris Middleton heaved a 30-foot shot and nailed it, keeping the game alive.
It should be noted that Milwaukee ultimately lost Game 1 and the series. But ultimately what that shot was about did not involve winning or losing, but the fact that magic can be found among the Bucks again. No longer are they the recipients of highlight plays, but they can begin making them by themselves.
Khris Middleton may hit another buzzer-beater, he may not, but Milwaukee has confidence that this team, built around Giannis Antetokounmpo, can win games and perform the miraculous on the biggest state. Now they need to prepare themselves to be that team come October.
