1. Balanced scoring makes C’s wildly unpredictable

Boston had six scorers in double figures during the Game 2 victory, as Brad Stevens continues to make every opposing coach look ridiculous with his offensive game plan that could probably turn even the worst of lottery teams into playoff contenders.

While there are definitely perks to having one or multiple superstar players on a roster — one guy to focus the offense around, take the last shot, carry the team etc. — there are also benefits to having none, most notably, the unpredictability that it presents to the opposition.

Imagine being 76ers head coach Brett Brown. How does one create a defensive game plan to stifle the Celtics? With Kyrie Irving out of the fold, there isn’t one guy to focus on, as if shutting him down will render the entire offense useless. A head of the snake, if you will.

The head of the snake, the focal point of the offense, changes from night to night.

One game it’s Terry Rozier, the next it’s the duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. With Brad Stevens running the show, there’s simply no formula to predict who’s going to have the breakout performance on any given night, and more often than not, it’s multiple players with podium-worthy stat lines.

For the Celtics and their fans, it’s a pleasure to watch. For Brett Brown and his coaching staff, it’s a nightmare to plan for.
