In classic fashion, the Boston Celtics came back from a double-digit deficit to take a 2-0 lead in their conference semis matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers.

As late as the middle of the second quarter, the narrative surrounding Game 2 between the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers was typical for the second game of a playoff series.

The desperate team, not looking to go down 2-0 (Philly), comes out with an elevated sense of urgency and a heightened level of energy, which manifests itself into a double-digit lead that usually leads to a tied up series.

However, from that point on, Boston flipped the narrative, once again erasing a deficit that grew as large as 22 to take a 2-0 lead in their conference semifinals matchup.

What the Celtics are doing this postseason is truly remarkable, as for so long we’ve been taught that teams need multiple superstars to compete in the playoffs, but Boston had six players in double-figures in their Game 2 victory, led by rookie Jayson Tatum‘s 21 points.

Their defense was arguably better than their offense, as the 76ers scored just 47 points in the second half, while Ben Simmons managed just one point and seven assists to go along with five turnovers in 30 minutes of action.

The C’s did what they were supposed to do by protecting their home court. Now, as the series shifts to Philadelphia, the Celtics will have to do more of the same in order to keep this magical postseason run alive.
