4. The Wizards take down the Celtics in double overtime

The Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics played some very competitive games during the regular season. It’s unfortunate they didn’t meet again in this year’s postseason. Hopefully, the latest results have motivated Washington to improve as an overall unit.

The Wizards took down the Celtics in double overtime, 125-124, back on March 14. It was one of two games between these two teams that needed an extra five minutes (or in this case, 10 minutes) to ultimately decide a winner. Boston was without Al Horford and Kyrie Irving as well.

One of the most surprising things about this one was the victory in the absence of John Wall. Without Wall, the Wizards were powered by Bradley Beal’s 34 points. He also led the way with nine assists, taking a page out of his All-Star point guard’s book.

Ian Mahinmi also had one of his best games of the regular season, posting his only double-double of 2017-18. He had 14 points and 11 rebounds in 26 minutes of action.
