2. Washington snaps its losing streak

The Washington Wizards were up and down for much of the season, given John Wall only played 41 games. By the end of the season, they were limping to the finish line.

The Wizards took their fair share of lumps after going 8-4 in the month of February. In March, the team went 6-8. In their final six games of the regular season, they went 1-5.

Their lone victory (113-101) on April 10 over the Boston Celtics snapped a four-game losing streak. Three road games in a row against the Bulls, Rockets and Cavaliers all resulted in losses. Washington’s return home was spoiled by a 103-97 loss to the Hawks on April 6.

A four-day layoff allowed the Wizards to regroup against the Celtics. After overcoming a sluggish start, they outscored the Celtics 61-47 in the second half. Kelly Oubre Jr. and Mike Scott powered the bench unit with 11 points and 12 points, respectively.

Oubre had five rebounds, two assists and two steals as well. Scott had eight rebounds and three assists. They were the biggest contributors for the Wizards off the bench this season and it showed in their game against the Celtics.
