The Washington Wizards were able to make the playoffs for the second straight season. In head coach Scott Brooks‘ second year, he can hang another postseason appearance under his belt, although it ended in an early exit.
The Wizards made it to the Eastern Conference semifinals in the 2017 NBA Playoffs, but they were the fourth seed then. This year, they were the East’s eighth-best squad. Still, they gave the Toronto Raptors all they could handle before falling in six games.
Bradley Beal emerged as the Wizards’ No. 1 offensive weapon. He led the team in scoring with 22.6 points per game. It came in handy during a difficult stretch of games as their leader, John Wall, missed 41 contests due to a knee issue.
The team still managed to make the most of things without Wall on the floor. Head coach Scott Brooks even got a Coach of the Month award out of it in February.
