The Phoenix Suns had the most depressing season in the league, and arguably in their 50 years as a franchise. Here are the five biggest disappointments from the 2017-18 campaign.

The Phoenix Suns had the worst 2017-18 season in the NBA by almost every measure.

Worst record? Check. Condemning advanced statistics? Check. Blowout losses? Check. Memorably depressing moments? Check. Fired head coach? Check. Disgruntled star player being traded away? Check. A ton of injuries, G League call-ups and otherwise anonymous lineups taking the court on a far-too-frequent basis? Check.

The list goes on and on, but suffice it to say that Phoenix was the laughingstock of the league in almost every way this season. Despite Devin Booker blossoming as a franchise star and Josh Jackson turning his rookie season around with a vengeance, Suns fans had very little to enjoy during a borderline tortuous 82-game schedule.

After such a brutal year, most fans would be forgiven for simply sweeping this season under the rug and looking ahead toward the future. But since being a Suns fan also demands a touch of masochism at this point, and since looking back at history is a helpful tool for planning the future, it’s worth looking back on arguably the worst season in franchise history.

Bearing all that in mind, here are the five biggest disappointments from the Phoenix Suns’ 2017-18 campaign, and what kind of impact they might have on the team moving forward.

Honorable Mention:  T.J. Warren failing to improve his 3-point shot or his defense
