5. Use draft pick wisely

The Lakers acquired the No. 25 pick from the Cavaliers when they cut bait with Clarkson and Nance before the trade deadline.

The Lakers have had recent success picking toward the end of the first round with Kuzma and Hart having fruitful rookie campaigns. There will be a solid mix of talented freshmen for the Lakers to choose from as well as juniors and seniors from a few of the blue-blood college basketball programs.

Some of the players that are rumored to go late in the first round include Grayson Allen from Duke, Jalen Brunson from Villanova and Jontay Porter from Missouri.
