3. Bojan Bogdanovic‘s off night in Game 7

As much credit as he deserves for throwing the Pacers’ offense on his back on multiple key occasions, the bottom line is that Bojan Bogdanovic’s offensive dud in Game 7 was a big reason the game was lost.

In fact, when Bogey played well against tough teams, more often than not, the Pacers won the tilt. He ended with 17 and 28 points in two wins against the Golden State Warriors toward the end of the season, and dropped 15 and 30 points respectively in Game 1 and 3 wins over the Cavaliers. While he only had 10 in the Game 6 victory, that game was a blowout anyway.

His extra offense has created the luxury and comfort for other players to succeed throughout the series as well as the season. Lance Stephenson had 16 points in Game 1, and in Bogdanovic’s dominant Game 3 performance, the offensive effort was nicely distributed as well.

But, when he registered a mere three points on 1-of-9 shooting in Game 7, it was a signal that the Pacers’ season was indeed over.
