Strengths

As mentioned above, Fournier brings an offensive spark to this team like nobody else can, although players like Gordon are catching up.

With five seconds on the shot clock, he is player the Magic want to see with the ball in his hands, trying to make something happen.

Like so many other players on this team though, injuries prevented him from showing what he could do on a nightly basis.

Fournier appeared in 57 games because of this, the lowest mark since his rookie season. When he was on the court, the team had an offensive rating of 108. The Magic finished the season 25th in this category, however, with a rating of 102.8. Through this single stat alone, we can see Fournier’s offensive importance to the team.

The 37.9 percent shooting he posted from 3-point range was right on his career average, while also being the third-highest mark on the team.

Given that Fournier took more 3-pointers per game than anybody else (5.9) it is fair to say that when adjusted to reflect this, Fournier would have led the team in scoring from deep, which is exactly what this team needs more of. The Magic ranked 28th in this category in the regular season, shooting 35.1 percent.

There’s nobody else on the team who can do everything that Fournier does as well as he does, and because of that, he brings real value to the team.
