The Memphis Grizzlies had many cloudy spots over their 2017-18 season, but Tyreke Evans was not one of them. Let’s look back at Evans’ dazzling season.
The Memphis Grizzlies probably didn’t even expect to get as much as they did from Tyreke Evans this season.
After using the bi-annual exception to bring Evans in, the Grizzlies were almost certainly hoping that they could have a quality bench wing, and not much more. But Evans proved everyone, including the Grizzlies brass, wrong.
Evans’ play turned heads around the league. Rumors swirled that teams were looking to trade for him at the trade deadline, and who wouldn’t want a guy like Evans? He scored 19.4 points per game on 39.9 percent 3-point shooting and 45.2 percent shooting overall. That type of scoring is hard to find, especially on a contract as cheap as Evans’ is.
So let’s take a look back at Evans’ season — the highs, the lows, the highlights and a final grade.
