3. Houston continues to dominate Utah

During the regular season, the Houston Rockets dominated even a healthy Utah Jazz team. Game 1 was no different as Houston imposed its will on Utah for the fifth straight game they’ve played this season.

It was apparent very early.

Regular season numbers can only mean so much during the postseason, but there are a few worth mentioning occasionally. Out of the teams the Rockets played four times this season, the Jazz had the worst point differential averaging 98 points per game to Houston’s 116 in their matchups.

The Jazz finished second in the NBA in defensive efficiency on the season. They’re simply not used to having a team run them out of the gym. Unfortunately for them, Houston has done it all season. It could be home cooking or first-game jitters kicking in again for the well-coached Jazz. They did lose Game 1 against Oklahoma City as well, but Houston provides not only two superstars, but a complete and well-oiled machine.
