1. Seth Curry injury

Before the season even began, everything Seth Curry worked for in the offseason was gone. The “other” Curry was lost for the season due to a left leg injury and just like that, one of the Dallas Mavericks’ best shooters was out for the season.

The trajectory of the season took a hit with the loss of Curry. He averaged 12.8 points, 2.7 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game in 2016-17. While his numbers improved, so did his accuracy from behind the arc. He was shooting 42.5 percent from 3-point land in 70 appearances last season.

Fast forward to this season, Curry was dearly missed in a rotation that lacked a go-to scorer. Don’t get me wrong, Dennis Smith Jr. did his thing as a rookie, but it would have helped if he had more firepower around him.

Harrison Barnes and Wesley Matthews weren’t the most prolific scorers they’ve ever been in their careers. Barnes did hit a game-winner against the Memphis Grizzlies but other than that, there weren’t many moments game-saving moments from them.

Curry is on pace to make a healthy recovery. Now, he’ll just need to keep it that way.
