Final grade

LeVert’s season was as scintillating as possible. From random injuries to improv point guard duties, LeVert did virtually everything — good and bad.

Consistently inconsistent was LeVert, which parallels the Nets’ season as a whole. His averages of 12.1 points, 4.2 assists, 3.7 boards and 1.2 steals per game are as promising as they are incomplete. All LeVert really needs to do is put it all together, and a versatile cog like him can fit into any competitive lineup.

LeVert probably won’t be considered a star prospect like Russell, or even a defensive anchor like Jarrett Allen, but while they are the alpha and omega to the game plan, LeVert bridges the gap. Players of his pliability are not easy to find.

For these reasons, I give LeVert a solid B for the year. He has room to grow, but the foundation is there. The strides LeVert has made since the Nets traded for him are quite impressive, but the glimpses of success he’s shown are mostly just glimpses for now.

A core of Caris LeVert and the aforementioned two is exciting to think about. He might go under the radar to most, but his value shan’t be undersold.
