Boston Celtics: 3 takeaways from Game 7 vs. Bucks
With a 112-96 thrashing of the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 7, the Boston Celtics move on to the second round of the 2018 NBA Playoffs.
Despite the loss of Kyrie Irving for the entirety of the postseason, the Boston Celtics still advanced to the second round of the playoffs, using their top-notch defense as well as a well-rounded contributions on the offensive end to defeat the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 7, 112-96.
It was quite the team effort for the Celtics, with four players in double figures and three of those scoring 20+, led by Al Horford and Terry Rozier, who each finished with 26 points in the victory.
For Milwaukee, Khris Middleton led the team with 32 points on 11-of-18 shooting, and while Giannis Antetokounmpo and Eric Bledsoe combined for 45 points, both were plagued by foul trouble throughout the game.
As Boston advances to face the Philadelphia 76ers in round two, the task won’t get any easier.
Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons have Philly playing at an extremely high level, and it will take a tremendous effort on both ends of the floor for the Celtics to pull off what many perceive to be an upset, despite what the seeding suggests.
If they can take some of what they did in Game 7 and transfer it to the next round, they can turn the matchup into a competitive series.
