1. Turnovers take their toll

Basketball is a very difficult game to win if you keep giving the ball up to your opponent. The Washington Wizards were very poor with their ball security Friday night. They turned the ball over 14 times, which is too high for a team competing in the playoffs.

Like all good teams, the Raptors were able to capitalize on these turnovers to the tune of 17 points. On the other side of the coin, the Raptors were very good looking after the ball, only turning it over six times on the night. The Wizards were only able to capitalize for five points, which is a massive disparity.

The starters accounted for all of the Wizards turnovers with Bradley Beal being the worst, turning the ball over six times. John Wall coughed it up four times, but as a point guard this can be expected.

While the bench did not commit any of these turnovers, the fact they were not on the court for enough time was a contributing factor. Thanks to the Raptors being able to keep their starters fresher, the Wizards starters were a little sloppier in their execution, which allowed the Raptors to take full advantage late.
